Raytac nRF52810 Module Incorporated AT Command Over UART Service (NUS) Coming Soon!

UART Service (NUS) is the most convenient and common Bluetooth Lower Energy proprietary service for all developers.

Raytac has introduced NUS (UART) BT4.2 and BT5 solution in previous article.

Nordic nRF52810 UART service (NUS) Solution (Raytac Module: MDBT42Q-192K)

nRF52 series SoC has below features rather than nRF51

1. nRF52 supports Longer Package MTU
  (500 Bytes for Baudrate 9600 / over 10K for 115200 or 230400)

2. nRF 52 has over 10 times higher transmission speed than nRF51

3. nRF52 only needs 1/10 (or less) transmission time  than nRF51

Raytac has been hearing from developers about the demand of AT command over UART service based on Nordic Solution.

Learnt from customers' feedback, Raytac realized that Long Package MTU is the recent critical demand for all customers and IoT applications.

As such, Raytac hardware team has selected Nordic nRF52810 solution , powered by firmware design team to develop a coming AT Command Over UART Service Solution.

The features of the AT Command Over UART solution not only brings a cost effective module, but an easy and user familiar method enables an easy and time-to-market efficiency.

Nordic nRF52810 BLE Module (Raytac MDBT42Q) Specification Sheet Updated

1. According to PCN-17112001, MDBT42Q-192K & MDBT42Q-P192K which build based on Nordic nRF52810 Solution changed the PCB color to green.

Raytac updated the Specification of module picture in Chapter 4 in Version C.

2. Corrected typo in Chapter 8 (revised typo of two C13 in version B)

Nordic nRF52810 UART service (NUS) Solution (Raytac Module: MDBT42Q-192K)

Nordic released nRF52810 aimed to provide a low entry barrier for developers to explore Bluetooth Low Energy implements.To improve the effective cost, nRF52810 has provided a limited RAM (24K) and Flash Memory (192K) specification.

Among the BLE implements, Raytac is aware that the UART service (as known as NUS, Nordic UART service) is the most common and widely applied service which is used to called as SPP in classic Bluetooth.

nRF52810 SoftDevice S112 Released

nRF52810 is an ultra-low power 2.4 GHz wireless system on chip (SoC) integrating the an ARM® Cortex®-M4 CPU with 24K RAM and 192K flash memory, supports BT5.0 (BLE),  , the ANT™ protocol, and a range of proprietary 2.4 GHz protocols.

Differ from nRF52832 solution which developed based on S132 Softdevice, Nordic has released S112 for nRF52810 in order to increase the flexibility of application code in limited flash memory size. 

Raytac strongly suggest all customer to download the product specification and Softdevice in below link for further nRF52810 development.

Raytac, meanwhile, has released MDBT42Q series module correspondent to nRF52810 solution. MDBT42Q series module is a pin to pin design for both nRF52832 and nRF52810 solution and equipped 2 kinds of antenna, Chip antenna and PCB antenna.
