Nordic nRF52810 AT-Command BLE Module By Raytac MDBT42Q-PAT

Raytac plans to release the AT command module, MDBT42Q-PAT, in April 2018, which is powered by Nordic nRF52810 solution.

Started from Nordic nRF51822 solution, Raytac has been developing UART service (aka NUS, Nordic UART service) to assist worldwide customers complete the IoT project.

With full experience accumulated from projects, Raytac has learned what the most common UART service commands can fit customers' needs or expects. Also, the request hearing from customers to have an easy deployed AT-command module by Nordic solution over UART service has been repeatedly addressed.

AT command stands for Attention Command, which is the most ordinary, easy and widely applied protocol to connect and bridge between IoT devices.

With well understanding of the importance what a bigger MTU and higher Data Rate has drew the attention to benefit developer's application and implements in AT-command modules, Raytac selects Nordic nRF52 family entry level SoC, nRF52810, to built up the AT command modules, MDBT42Q-PAT.
The significant features of nRF52810 includes a higher RF data rate improved from 1Mbps (nRF51)  to 2Mbps and MTU increased from 23 bytes (nRF51) to 247 bytes, which believed can meet most general specification request among developers and implements.

The advantage to build products based on module in Design Saving and Time To Market benefits as been well discussed in some other articles that developers many well know about it.
MDBT42Q-PAT is a module developed according to MDBT42Q series line with form factor 10 x 16 x 2.2mm deployed both chip antenna and PCB antenna for customer's options.
Along with MDBT42Q series certification granted, MDBT42Q-PAT has complied with  BT5 and BT4.2 Bluetooth specification but also pre-certified by USA FCC / Canada  IC/ EU CE/ Korea KC/Japan Telec MIC/Taiwan NCC/ China SRRC.

With the passion Raytac's team possessed, the effort is aimed to create the maximum benefits contributes not only by hardware with pre-certified modules but also provide a comprehensive per-load AT-Command firmware. To easy developers's work, speed up the project schedule, lower down the total budget by deploy the module built in products just like a plug and play components is always the ultimate mission Raytac would like to dedicate to all developers.

A brief  AT-commands list for MDBT42Q-PAT is described as below:

Supports MTU upto 247 bytes
Supports set Device Name
Supports 1Mbps/2Mbps on Air
Supports set Advertising time;  Start/stop
Supports 8 UART Baud rate setting
Supports UART with/without flow control

For more comprehensive completed AT-Command list will be provided after module released.
