CE RED & Safety Directives Update

CE has announced new Safety and Radio Equipment Directive (aka RED) and plans to put in practice since end of 2020 and 2021.

                 


* Safety Directive: 
IEC-60950-1 will be replaced by EN 62368-1, effected by 2020/12/20

* RED: 
EN 300 328 V2.1.1 will be replaced by Directive EN 300 328 V2.2.2 , effected by 2021/8/6.

To fulfill the CE compliance, Raytac has decided to proceed the updating work for all module series according to the latest directives. The work is scheduled to be completed in middle of 2020.

Customers who are currently proceeding CE testing is encouraged to adapt the latest directives to save extra task for latter regulation updating.

Nordic nRF52832 Module: MDBT42V & MDBT42V-P CE RED Compliance

MDBT42V and MDBT42V is a Raytac's latest BLE module solutioned by Nordic nRF52832 with small form factor. Bluetooth Specification granted based on BT5.0 / BT4.2,
Due to the compact size, it can easy to fit into any IoT appliance and has yet raised the highest interests among developers recently.

Following by Raytac's "Easy Employ" Policy, MDBT42V and MDBT42V-P has started to proceed the safety regulation compliance program. Hereby, we are pleased to announce RED directive has been fully met.

  • On 16 April 2014, the EU adapted a new rules for placing radio equipment into EU Market
  • Manufacturers who has compliant with the existing legislation R&TTE 1999/5/EC 1.9.1 or LVD will be valid until 13 June 2017
  • Afterward, regulation will be placed by RED after 13 June, 2017
