Product Change Notice (PCN-26041701) on Raytac MDBT40 module's Chip Antenna Replacement

  New Taipei, Taiwan / Los Angeles, USA, 04/23/2026


Raytac announces a Product Change Notice (PCN-26041701) for below modules, change effective on the Date Codes stated within.

Device Affected:
1. MDBT40-256RV3: 618 and after
2. MDBT40-256V3: 618 and after

The supplier(of the original chip antenna) notified Raytac in March 2026 that the original chip antenna has reached its end-of-life (EOL) status, thus the introduction of an alternative(new) chip antenna from the same supplier to ensure long term supply continuity.

There are no changes on Form, Fit, Function, and Quality of Reliability.  Only change in Chip Antenna Appearance.

Upon receiving this notice, our R&D team promptly conducted comprehensive validation. The results confirm that there is no impact on RF performance, EMC compliance, or related certifications. 

In conclusion, all existing certifications and technical documentations remain valid.




The change is already effective as the existing inventory of the original chip antenna has been depleted. All production batches are already using the new chip antenna.

Raytac Product Change Notice (PCN) Announcement for nRF51822 Series Modules

Raytac would like to announce Product Change Notice (PCN-20120101) for modules built by nRF51822 SoC (Version 3) includes part no.: MDBT40-256V3 / MDBT40-256RV3/ MDBT40-P256V3 / MDBT40-P256RV3.

The major description of this PCN is refer to the update of marking on the shielding case. Apart from the appearance change herein,  there is no further function, quality or safety regulation is affected.

Dear Customers,

Raytac would like to announce Product Change Notice (PCN) for MDBT40 & MDBT40-P series module.

As MDBT40 /MDBT40-P Series module KCC (Korea) safety regulation granted. 
There is a need to have KCC marking on shielding case to comply the Korean law.



All components, layout, performance remain the same. Customer no need to change anything.
The only changing is to have KCC (Korean RF safety regulation) marking onto shielding case.

The change started from module produced from 2017 (Date Code started from 7XX)

Customers are strongly recommended to switch to nRF51 Rev.3 IC in order to avoid the future firmware VS IC compatible concerns.

Nordic released Version 3 IC and Raytac now is ready for shipment
The major difference in Version 3 IC is

1. Extends operating temperature range to industrial standard (-40 ~+85 )
2. DC/DC mode available for extra power saving

Important Notice: 
Version 3 IC is only available for customers built the firmware based on following SDK Version

SDK6.1.0 / SDK7.0.1 /  SDK 7.1.0 / SDK 7.2.0S / KD 8.0.0

For customers who would like to use Version 3 IC but code built by SDK 4 or 5, we would suggest customers porting the code to SDK 6.1.0 and complier again.
